Paul is a Chartered & Professional Engineer (C.Eng & PrEng Civils) with more than 40 years structural concrete & civil design and inter-discipline co-ordination experience (Lead Engineer) for an extensive range of industrial, marine, mining, commercial and infrastructure projects.
Paul’s experience covers the following:
- Lead Engineer and detailed civil design of major reinforced concrete & prestressed concrete structures within multidiscipline teams for industrial projects including: – marine projects, mining & process plant, cement industry, smelters, materials handling plant, buildings, petrochemical and power industries.
- Design and detailing of prestressed concrete bridges, tanks, silos, reservoirs, building floor slabs, precast works.
- Design of heavy foundations and structures, silos, bunkers, reservoirs, bridges, buildings.
- Major marine works. Detailed and tender designs for various major import and export jetties including piling, composite precast, prestressed and in-situ concrete topside structures.
- Design of remedial works, structural strengthening, heavy lifting, rock anchoring and specialist structural repairs.
- Structural analysis using finite element (including seismic) and other standard design software.
- Project feasibility study civil designs and value engineering to FEL 2 & 3 category estimates.
- Preparation of project specifications, design criteria, scopes of work.
- Preparation of project procedures, civil tenders’ technical documentation and adjudication.
- Design audits, inspections, structural reports, coordination and approval of consultants’ and contractors’ designs, constructability, and safety reviews.
- Inter-discipline project engineering coordination and planning including structural (steelwork) , architectural, mechanical, process, electrical, and construction liaison.
