Rob Croll

Rob has 40+ years’ experience in the mining industry starting with De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd/Anglo American Corporation of SA Ltd.

Twelve years of operational and technical experience in both De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd. and the Gold and Uranium Division of Anglo American Corporation of S.A. Ltd., obtaining senior management levels.

This was followed by exposure to the financial markets, initially as an analyst, (achieving a Financial Mail rating in the coal sector for each of the 4 years as an analyst), and then in Anglo American Corporation of S.A. Ltd., where his responsibilities included providing project and mine valuation services to the Anglo American Group of Companies. This period provided an understanding of the issues related to the valuation of mining companies. During this period Rob also was an Alternate Director for a number of listed mining companies on the JSE, and in which Anglo American held a stake.

During the period 1998 through 2006, Rob played a major role in the formation of AngloGold Limited, and thereafter managing the overall due diligence process required for evaluating potential acquisition targets internationally for AngloGold Ashanti Ltd (and its predecessor AngloGold Ltd.).  Rob was also a Director of Nufcor Limited (100% owned by AngloGold Ashanti Limited) during the period August 2006 to May 2007.

Thereafter Rob spent time as the Executive Director: Business Development for Brinkley Mining Plc, where he was responsible for the development of Brinkley’s uranium prospects in the Karoo, the DRC and in the rest of Africa and was a Member of the Board of Directors.

This was followed by time at Mintails Limited as Group Executive Corporate Affairs where he was responsible for the provision of technical capabilities to assist in the Mintails’ Group Strategic Development and was a Member of the Board of Directors. Mintails was involved in the development of a gold mine tailings retreatment operation in South Africa.

After some 18 months working as an independent consultant, Rob joined The MSA Group (Pty) Ltd in January 2010 as Principal Consultant responsible for the provision of various consulting services (such as due diligence studies, valuation exercises, scoping studies, pre-feasibility studies) covering a number of commodities including Gold, Platinum Group Elements, Base Metals, Iron, Fluorspar, Ferrochrome, Uranium, Coal, and Rare Earth Elements.

In November 2015 Rob was elected as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Resource Generation Limited, and was subsequently appointed as Lead Independent Non-Executive Director .

In March 2016 Rob moved back into private consulting.
